Chrysler's Viper

So I am not usually a big car guy but as soon as I saw this viper advertised in Car and Driver magazine it immediately became my favorite car. It was a sneak peak for the car to be released in 2013 and they wanted to try and gain hype for it now. Do you think companies benefit from exposing this product early? Do you guys think that a remake of this viper will take off? I feel that Chrysler will benefit tremendously from doing this people will immediately fall in love with it. People love the Viper so having nostalgia for this product people will fall in love with it and think of better time.

Is Ronald McDonald like the new Joe Camel

So I was reading an article how the advertising of Ronald McDonald maybe just like advertising Joe Camel for smoking. Some of the people who think obesity is just as bad as cigarettes are wanting McDonalds to stop showing Ronald in some of their worst products. I was just thinking what you guys think should they make it illegal for fast food industries to use friendly advertisement characters? I myself think they should not try and claim the younger consumers but should only be allowed to advertise towards older consumers who may know better. If you want to take a look at the article here is the link.

Spotify Launching Apps

So im sure some of you have heard of the music site called Spotify. It allows you to listen to any type of music you want and create certain playlists that you enjoy. I myself have a playlist with all different types of music which is nice because they allow you to chose anything that you want. Now what spotify is doing is that they are allowing companies to create apps for their site. This allows for the site to become more attractive for advertising which opens this site up to many more things. Do you think that what the company is doing is right or wrong? Do you think the website will grow or people will get annoyed with all of the advertising?

Advertising and Clutter

Ive noticed that some websites would not stay alive unless they have all different types of advertising on their webpage. You see all different types of them like the side ones that may the text on the page smaller and forces the page to be longer. I find this to be annoying. Most of the advertising is getting really cluttered sometimes you cant even read some things because the advertisement fly by and block your screen. What do you guys think about all the web advertisements? Do they annoy you as much as they annoy me? Do you think that they will ever rid the web of all this clutter?

Favorite Sports Advertisements

ESPN always comes up with funny commercials in order to sell different players. My favorite would be the one on Alex Ovechkin where he is finding top secret information at the ESPN studio. He is caught in the process and the guy asks him your like a Russian spy and Ovechkin just ends up laughing and is like yeah right. Then the guy ends up leaving and one of Ovechkins teammates removes one of the ceiling tiles and says wow that was close and throws Ovechkin down a  rope. Do you think that advertising players like this is effective? Do you think that it gets people to tune into the games more? I myself think it is an effective way because it shows a different side of some of these players and uses comedy to make people like that player or team.
