International Advertising
Its tough for some companies to advertise to other countries where the culture is entirely different. Many companies try to enter a market and in some offend a certain culture. Words that we use could have a different meaning than they were intended. For example Burger King tried to do an advertising campaign in Europe where they had a new sandwich called the Texican Whopper where they advertised a tall lanky American Cowboy and a short fat Mexican. The slogan was a taste of Texas with a little spicy Mexican. This is just wrong I think how could the company just let this happen. What do you guys think? Should they be penalized for this? or is it just a harmless joke?

I would say that I agree with this. This probably happens all the time because of bad marketing research. I don't think that they should be penalized for doing something like this. I think the embarassment of letting it happen is enough and it would probably be difficult to get customers back because they felt offensive to it.
