What is a bigger story

Ok so I keep seeing on facebook and twitter how people are complaining that Whitney Houston death is a bigger story than American Soldiers giving up their lives for their country. I can see why Whitneys death is a big thing she is one of the greatest singers of our time. Should this really be a huge story though. Soldiers that die for their country nobody even knows their names but they are dying for such a bigger cause. Its kind of sad to think that we don't hear about it really, but when this celebrity who has been dealing with drug addiction dies the  entire world is in an uproar. This is kind of a sad world that we live in that people care more about celebrities than the people that protect us and help us sleep at night knowing that we don't have to worry about a bomb being dropped on our house. I am just wondering what everyone thoughts are on this.

  1. I completely agree with you and think about this every time a celebrity dies. I have seen many things on Twitter and Facebook that has related back to this. It puzzles me why we do not focus more of the medias attention on topics such as our soldiers and I believe many people are feeling the same way we both are.

  2. I agree one hundred percent, it's sickening and I appreciate you saying this. Unfortunately the news gives people what they want to see or hear. And it's sad that people would rather hear about a celebrity dying opposed to a soldier dying, because that's too sad and might make us worry, but celebrity news of any kind is "entertaining". Also with the media being controlled only by a few, what we hear about is being filtered. People sadly take our freedom and what our soldiers do for granted.
